Heleen Vangeel obtained her bachelor and master degrees at the Catholic University of Leuven with a specialization in economic law. In 2016 she started her apprenticeship as a lawyer at the Brussels Bar. After a few years, she decided to change course and was admitted to the master’s programme in Dutch law at Maastricht University, which she completed in 2021.
As of September 2021, Heleen is working for LexQuire and is once again a lawyer at the Brussels Bar. In addition, she has been registered as an EU lawyer in the Netherlands which allows her to handle Dutch cases as well.
Heleen has a broad knowledge of general contract and liability law with a focus on construction law, commercial law and insurance law. She has extensive litigation experience and is a passionate pleader. In 2018, she had the opportunity to represent the Brussels Bar in the regional moot court competition ‘Het Vlaamse Pleitjuweel’ and obtained a nice second place.
Heleen follow the Grotius specialisation course ‘Real Estate’ at Radboud University. Various legal topics such as construction law, procurement law, project development, purchase and delivery of real estate, mortgages, easements, etc. are extensively discussed.
