Gerrit Klapwijk is Dutch national, Belgian lawyer specialising in private and public international law and transnational European matters.
During his career Gerrit Klapwijk has worked for various international US Law firms, including Gibson Dunn & Crutcher and Akin Gump. He has also worked for the European Commission for several years in the fields of EU competition law and EU public procurement.
His experience as a litigator includes contracts, commercial lease agreements, labour law, transnational civil and commercial liability cases, international private law (estate planning), corporate law, criminal (social) law.
He has a keen interest in international human rights ( Masters degree in Human Rights at the Université Catholique de Louvain ( UCL) and has taken cases to the European Court of Human Rights.
