After graduating from Nijmegen University in Private International Law, Company Law and Competition Law, Hans has been working as a lawyer since 1977, first in Breda and from 1978 until March 2024 in Maastricht.

In addition to his work, he is a board member of various social organizations and a supervisory director of a medical clinic. His practice has an international orientation (in English, French and German). Besides general practice, his main areas of expertise are corporate and competition law, intellectual property and labor law, as well as inheritance law.
