LexQuire Sofia

Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, is a city of centuries, where history and modernity are uniquely intertwined. LexQuire has recently partnered with a passionate team of Bulgarian lawyers: Tsvetelina Marinova, Vladimir Mirchev, Nadezhda Raykova and Snezhina Bozhikova. Based in the Bulgarian capital, they assist clients with high-quality legal services, using not only their expertise but also honouring the spirit of the city. We would like to take you on a journey through historical places in Sofia related to law, justice and human destinies.

The Court House – A Symbol of Justice

The Court House is not only an architectural masterpiece but also the heart of legal life in Sofia. Built between 1929 and 1940, covering an area of 8,400 m², today it houses 430 rooms, including 24 halls, a library, and inner courtyards.

This building has been the stage for key trials, including cases against former politicians and major figures in organized crime. Today, it accommodates the Supreme Court of Cassation, the Sofia City Court, and parts of the prosecution office.

The massive lions at the entrance of the building serve as a reminder of the power of the law—just and impartial.

Roman Serdica – The Roots of Law

The Ancient Cultural and Communication Complex “Serdica” is an open-air museum and the largest archaeological complex in the center of Sofia. The city was an autonomous polis with democratic institutions such as the People’s Assembly (demos) and the City Council (boule). At its center was the bouleuterion—the place where key governance decisions were made.

Here, more than 1,800 years ago, the first legal norms on the territory of Sofia were created—forming the foundation of justice principles we still follow today.

The National Assembly – The Legislative Heart of Bulgaria

The official building of the National Assembly is one of the first public buildings constructed after Bulgaria’s liberation.

From here, the laws that shape our lives are passed.

Just a few steps away is the office of LexQuire Bulgaria (14 Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd.). Feel free to visit us to discuss law and the spirit of Sofia.

Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” – The Incubator of Great Lawyers

The oldest and largest university in Bulgaria, founded on October 1, 1888. The central part of the university building, worth 6 million gold leva, was built with a donation from the Georgievi brothers, Evlogi and Hristo, whose sculptures adorn its facade.

The Faculty of Law resides in the main university building. Established in 1892 to meet the growing needs of the young Bulgarian state for legal professionals, today the Faculty is an active part of the European and global academic community and an important factor in the development of civil society.

This is the source of knowledge for Bulgarian and international law.

Sofia is not just an administrative and legal center but a living narrative of law through the centuries. For our firm, law is not just a profession – it is a journey through traditions, values, and human stories.
